In a world that perhaps was this, in a distant time or not, looking for answers, someone looks up, finds a dome that seems endless as it starts in the faraway of his gaze, continuing on his head and vanishes into the horizon. Inevitable feel small, trapped, encapsulated, looking only the color of the sky it seems that you are floating in the middle of this dome.
The sky has many faces, it´s never the same, ephemeral though it may look eternal, constantly moving. The nights are dark. Blue sky dotted always with clouds. White mornings. The reddish sky drags cobalt blue with a breeze that takes what little is left of the day. Shadows, playing hide when the sun is highest, are now increasingly more, challenging to cover everything. Life goes to rest and while awake in every corner. The last sunbeam is dismissed, in a magical moment.
And so, little by little, it becomes night welcoming black infinity, full of stars already extinct, that are still shining almost perpetual, as witnesses of ancient times, or future desires. A darkness in which the universe and its infinite spatiality is revealed before your eyes.
Seeing is forgetting the name of the things you see.
By a temporary characteristic of the curtain, people are able to experience a two different (open/close space) type mixture of space at the same time. Adding to this difuse nature the possibilitty of people to moddify the mere structure and boundaries, the pavillion itself is an always changing event
Sometimes until someone or something reminds it us, we recover the ability to marvel with what surrounds us daily. A long passage contained between almost non-existent limits whose main objective is to frame the view and at the same time make evident the passage of time in the sky.
Project in collaboration in all its stages with Joshua Ruelas and Adrian Becerra Villaseñor, architects.
